Who We Are

Methodist College of Health Sciences- Maua Campus is strategically located in Meru County, Igembe South sub-County within Maua town. It is within Maua Methodist hospital, a level four hospital which is under the Methodist church in Kenya. 
The college was established in 1942 by british missionaries as a training center for certificate/enrolled nurses. Later on, we began training diploma nurses/ KRCHN.
Over the years the institution has evolved and now trains other cadres in the health care profession including KRCHN, medical records and information technology, clinical counselling psychology, community health development and social work, community health and HIV management, other courses to be rolled out soon include medical lab sciences among others.
The college is accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya which regulates all nurse trainings institutions and their practice in the country.
We have three  intakes every year in January,  May and September  except for the nursing students who have two intakes that is April and September. The College has continued to register good results at the national examinations (Nursing Council of Kenya Licensing examinations).
Most of our graduates are absorbed in reputable hospitals in the country to provide quality care to the community. 

Our Philosophy

Methodist College of Health Sciences is based on Christian principles and expects a high standard of education to provide quality Health care. This means all the staff and students are expected to have a caring attitude and possess self-discipline. The College reserves the right to discontinue the training of any student who fails to maintain the stipulated standards by the regulatory bodies and the college, or who fails to adhere to the moral code of behaviour as laid down. The staff are committed to providing all the necessary theoretical and practical supervision to our students

Vision

To be a model Christian referral and training centre, producing excellent and competent health care professionals, able to provide unmatched services to the community, for the glory of God.
